From the Back Porch…

Possum pottery began as a back porch endeavor in 2022. In 2024 we expanded and now have indoor classrooms. We are open for private lessons, events, and group workshops.

If you’re looking for a new hobby or want to improve your pottery skills we’d love for you to join us at Possum Pottery Texas. Let’s shape clay, forge friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Why is your studio called Possum Pottery Texas, you ask? Well, over the years we have had many possums traipse through our yard and hang out under our porch. There aren’t any possums currently in residence, but we feel certain they will return any time.

  • April Lintz

    Director & Potter

April finds joy in creating beautiful, functional pottery that enhances everyday life. She appreciates the sensory experience of working with clay and the life lessons the process continually teaches.

Her pottery journey began in the early ’90s, when she fell in love with clay in high school and college. Today, it’s become her full-time work and creative calling.

With over 20 years of experience in education, April enjoys teaching students of all ages. She holds a BFA, MBA and a Master’s in Educational Leadership.

  • Sissy Cross

    Assistant Director & Potter

Sissy has a background in neuroscience research and discovered her love for working with clay about ten years ago, as a way to bring light and creativity into the long, rainy winters of the Pacific Northwest.

She enjoys working with a medium that blends design and science. Clay gives her the opportunity to engage both her analytical and creative sides, and she learns something new each time she sits down to create.

Now back in Texas, Sissy is excited to make pottery alongside her friends. Sissy holds a BS in Neuroscience, MS in Data Science, and is working on her PHD in Education and Organizational Leadership.

  • Ashley Perry

Originally from Louisiana, Ashley now lives in Fort Worth with her husband and their three children. She holds a degree in Family, Infancy, and Early Childhood Education and has worked in preschool education for over a decade.

Ashley brings a love for community, creativity, and care to her role in the studio. She enjoys transforming spaces and will play a key role in organizing our pottery shop and planning events. As a skilled teacher known for her empathy and openness, Ashley helps foster a welcoming, supportive environment for makers of all ages.

  • Kevin Lintz

    Kevin Lintz

    Resident Bean Counter

Kevin doesn’t know much about clay—yet—but he’s learning more every day. While the artists get muddy, he keeps the books balanced and the beans counted.

Kevin brings decades of experience as an early childhood educator and has also worked in corporate IT. A lifelong learner with a creative streak, he’s a comic book writer and letterer who loves storytelling, clever design, and playing games of all kinds. Around the studio, he’s known for his humor, sharp mind, and willingness to pitch in wherever he's needed.

  • Peter Lintz

    Creative Consultant

Peter mostly plays the role of supportive son at Possum Pottery Texas, but he also serves as an occasional advisor to the team—when he’s not hanging out with friends, crafting potions and cardboard weapons, reading graphic novels, playing RPGs, or befriending neighborhood cats.

He’s the creative force behind Ember Brothers Potions, a backyard-born venture that brings the alchemy of imagination to life. Co-created by two young adventurers, each potion is brewed with a mix of wonder and whimsy—perfect for daring quests, epic D&D campaigns, or one-of-a-kind gifts for curious collectors.
